Request ServiceThe experienced, courteous staff at Waste Connections of Colorado Springs provides dependable and convenient El Paso County residential trash collection service.

Collection information:
Please have your Waste Connections of Colorado Springs garbage container at the curb by 7 a.m. on your scheduled pickup day. Please do not block the sidewalk with your container.

Pickup guidelines:

  • Leave 3 feet between containers
  • Do not park personal vehicles within 10 feet of containers on service day
  • Handles should face towards your house
  • Do not drill into, bolt or fasten anything to the cart
  • Trash should not be higher than the lid of the container or be placed on top of the lid
  • Trash should be bagged and tied
  • Do not pack materials tightly into cart

Container Size

Waste Connections of Colorado Springs residential customers receive a 96-gallon container for weekly pickup. Service level with trash service allots for (1) 96 gallon toter + 3 bags outside, which can be used for leaves and yard/grass clippings.

If you have extra garbage or large items – furniture, carpet etc. - that will not fit inside the container, please contact customer service at 719-591-5000 at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled pickup day. Additional charges may apply.

  • Double bagged cat litter or dog waste

  • 55-gallon drums (unless both ends are cut out and drum is flattened)
  • Acid
  • Ashes, hot or cold
  • Broken glass, broken mirrors (unless wrapped in newspaper and labeled)
  • Computer monitors
  • Concrete or rock
  • Dead animals
  • Dirt or sod
  • Electronics
  • Fertilizer (depends on quantity-please call customer service at 719-591-5000 before placing in trash)
  • Firecrackers
  • Fluorescent tube lighting rods, bulbs
  • Gasoline
  • Hazardous materials
  • Household Hazardous Waste
  • Insecticide and chemicals
  • Lawnmowers and other home yard equipment (unless the gas and oil have been completely removed)
  • Liquids
  • Medical waste
  • Motor oil
  • Paints, stains, sealants (lids must be open and contents dry)
  • Pesticides or acids
  • Products and items containing mercury
  • Propane tanks
  • Razor blades (unless placed in a hard plastic container with a screw-on lid)
  • Refrigerators, freezers
  • Syringes, hypodermic needles (unless in a proper hazardous materials container - please call customer service)
  • Tires
  • Used oil
  • Vehicle batteries


Please do not put any electronic items in any Waste Connections of Colorado Springs residential trash and recycling container.

According to the State of Colorado, "Waste electronics and computers from residential and non-residential sources cannot be disposed of in solid waste landfills in Colorado. Waste electronics contain heavy metals and other harmful constituents that have the potential to contaminate soil and groundwater if not managed and disposed of properly."

Household Hazardous Waste and Paint

The Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment publishes a useful list of locations that accept Household Hazardous waste and paint.

Online Bill Pay:

To enroll in online bill pay with Waste Connections of Colorado Springs, click the Online Bill Pay button at the top of any page.  You will need an invoice, which has your account number and invoice number. Enrolling in autopay and electronic billing will eliminate the administrative fee from your account.

Residential Trash Service Cancellation Policy:

Upon cancellation, a $35 toter removal fee will apply unless the cans were purchased, and if you cancel before your current billing cycles is over you will be charged a $50 early termination fee.  Please allow 6-8 weeks for any refunds.

Residential Recycling

We provide a single-stream El Paso County residential recycling program (also known as "fully commingled" recycling), which means all recyclables are placed in one bin for convenient curbside pickup. Residential recycling in the Colorado Springs area is collected every other week. Place your recyclables curbside by 7 a.m. on your pickup date.

  • Aluminum foil, pie pans (2" or larger, clean)
  • Cereal/soda boxes
  • Corrugated cardboard (max. 12" x 24"per piece)
  • Detergent bottles, screw-on caps are allowed
  • Glass bottles and jars (clear, green, amber)
  • Metals, steel cans, aluminum cans
  • Milk jugs, butter/margarine containers, pop/water bottles
  • Paper egg cartons
  • Paper, junk mail, magazines, newspapers (glossy inserts okay)
  • Plastic, plastic containers (#1 - #7 on bottom)

When preparing recycling for pickup, please follow these guidelines carefully:

  • Flatten all cardboard boxes
  • Empty and rinse all containers. Do not flatten containers
  • Do not place items in plastic bags
